3E Group Commits to Net Zero Emissions by 2024

3E Group Australia & NZ commits to Net Zero by the year 2024…

3E Group Australia & NZ reconfirms its commitment to continue decarbonising across its operations, with a bold ambition to become a Net Zero organisation by the year 2024. This is well in line with the Australian Federal Government’s national net-zero emissions target by 2050.

3EGroup  was established on the idea of helping organisations that want to fight the ill effects of climate change and achieve environmental sustainability. Since its inception in 2002, the company’s mission is to eliminate reliance on fossil fuels and switch to renewables. This is in line with their environmental objectives of minimising the environmental impact of their day-to-day operations and client services.

Robin Archibald, 3E Group Australia & NZ’s Group Managing Director, said: “We are committed to protecting our employees and everyone in the workplace from all types of health and safety risks. 3E Group is committed in enhancing our work environment by adopting new initiatives over our two decades in operation.

Robin Archibald also revealed that the company will be utilising its Integrated Management System (IMS) to record and verify its emissions for Scope 1, 2, 3, which will be measured against its baseline year of 2019 (Pre-COVID levels). Continuous emissions monitoring is also an essential sustainability strategy.

Arman Sarkisian, 3E Group’s Chief Operating Officer, stressed the importance of reducing the impact of the company’s operations on the environment, “As a certified ISO14001 Environmental Management System company, 3E Group’s long-term vision is to reduce our own carbon footprint and reduce our dependency on polluting resources to achieve our carbon-negative goals by 2024.”

Sarkisian also shared that meeting or exceeding science-based targets for emission reduction are another step in meeting the 1.5°C climate change target. Any unavoidable emissions can be done by offsetting through certified methods, such as donating tree seedlings to Greening Australia for every tonne of CO2 saved throughout 3E Group’s operational history.

Simon Johnston, Head of Advisory Services, is aware of the challenges the company may face towards its net-zero goal: “We are proactively reducing emissions, but the final reductions are challenging to achieve”, 3E Group adopted sensible measures to overcome these obstacles”

As the lead for 3E Group’s 2024 Net Zero Program, Simon Johnston shared some additional strategies to realise the company’s sustainability goals. One important strategy involves mapping the emissions boundary, measuring emissions from the wider portfolio, and creating a step-by-step action plan for a sustainable future.

It’s exciting to be part of this movement, to be paving the way forward, walking the talk and guiding our clients in the same direction.” Mr. Johnston added.

Despite the challenges on the road to Net Zero Emissions by 2024, Robin Archibald believes that the company can tackle these challenges with ease: “As we continue to expand into other regions across ANZ, 3E Group is committed to rising above these decarbonisation challenges to meet our commitment.

“While we actively partner with organisations to achieve their Net Zero ambitions, we are on track to becoming a Net Zero organisation by 2024”
